The Story Behind the Stories

Mir Ahadul IslamAuthor. Screenwriter. Storyteller. Musician

Some writers begin with a plan. Others begin with stories they cannot stop telling.

For Mir Ahadul Islam, it started early.

At seven, he was already writing comics and poetry. His first comic piece and poem appeared in his school's annual magazine while he was still in third grade. It was a small beginning, but the instinct behind it stayed.

In 2014, he returned to writing seriously, beginning with horror-drama scripts. Soon, he was writing songs, serial dramas, screenplays and stories across different forms.

Then he discovered something about himself: his brain was constantly generating stories and characters.

There was always another world forming somewhere in the background.

The Year Everything Arrived

2024

After years of writing quietly, the work began to surface.

Books, scripts and screenplays started appearing almost at once. Manuscripts that had spent years waiting were finally ready for their time.

His debut novel, Moner Alo, a Bangla superhero novel, went on to receive two national awards.

Then came The Teeth Beneath, his first English novel, a psychological thriller that reached #1 in its Amazon New Release category and remained there for a week.

His third book, The Chef's Kiss, got love all around the world for being bold and dark. Creating iconic characters. Such as Orion Valhart, Penelope Geller, Giovann Valhart, Jana Valhart, Joshua Geller, and Amanda Geller.

Then came What Dracula Told Me, the opening book of the Draevena series.

Beyond the Books

The novels are only part of the work.

Several manuscripts are complete and waiting for their time to be published. Among the screen projects is Shards of Sundial City, a 3D animated children's film.

Three feature films have been written with the intention of being directed by Ahadul himself.

Eight more books are in development across Bangla and English.

For him, writing has never belonged to one medium. A story can begin as a novel, become a screenplay, move to television or eventually find its way onto the big screen.

The form changes.

The story remains.

The Writer, Off the Page

Ahadul keeps his personal life private, but he is always willing to share his work.

He loves nature, good food and meeting new people. Conversations, places and everyday observations often become part of the imagination that feeds his stories.

What he chooses to share with the world is what he creates.

Stories.

Characters.

Worlds waiting to be discovered.

And perhaps, a few that are still waiting for their time.

“The world is full of lies. Better read, that owns it. Calls fiction.”

Music always influenced him. He wrote poems when he was seven years old, and now he has published five songs.

Film inspired him. Showing your imagination to the world. Already created three films, waiting for the right time to create new ones.
